MMLC-70 in FairyLand

Since Babies are ANGELS; Mothers have to be FAIRIES

Literature Vol. III. Eps. 2

Once upon a time in the mystical and dramatic Fairyland of Magical Moments Lively Culture 70 (MMLC 70) there was a fairy that was blessed with the arrival of an Angel. The fairies decided to bestow on Earth to celebrate the coming of a Shining Star.

On the commencement of the 7th month on 11th January 2013, thirteen beautiful fairies fluttered their wings for the long ride down to a stylistic Coffee Lounge on Planet Earth. In their pure whites and precious pearls they embarked at 3 hours past noon for a surprise Baby Shower for Fairy Cr. Riddhima who solved the riddle on arrival of what her naughty fellow fairies where upto.

Fairy Riddhima was enchanted by the novel idea of celebration and was crowned with the Best Mom- to- Be sash by her Fairy Godmother CP Kajal.

Continuing the long standing tradition, all fairies posed for innumerous pictures to create a picture book and showered the Fairy Mom- to- Be with marvelous gifts.

They enjoyed their Coffee concoctions and gracious helping of Designer Cake on this mesmerizing Lounge on Earth amidst playing Fun Wizard and educative games.

For the smiling onlookers, the pantomime and the animated fun continued for two hours.

Another surreal magical moment was captured for framing on the Wall of MMLC 70.

MMLC-70s MAGIC BUS

My Santa came riding on a “Magic Bus” this year

MMLC 70’s twinklers had the true experience for Christmas this year; their celebration was neither a Party nor a Carnival. Driving over 50 kms around Chennai city in MMLC 70s MAGIC BUS, our little kiddos took on the post of being Santa Elves this season to help him spread some joy.

Our itinerary and Joy route was as follows:

We started the day at 10am with a beautiful Christmas Tree Decoration at Chairperson Cr. Kajal’s terrace, 2 trees and 12 twinklers, 6 twinklers at each tree, all trying their best to make the tree look as pretty as can be. We all brought a gift for another twinkler playing Secret Santa, and thus all the twinklers got their Christmas gift. This was just a cheerful beginning of the day , at 11 am- MMLC 70’s Magic Bus sets off to spread joy along with the decorated trees , carols and cheer. The bus was decorated with balloons, Christmas confetti’s and of course our Ladies Circle India banner and Madras Metro Ladies Circle-70 banner. As we drove down the route of 50 kms the twinklers sang merrily all the way. 12pm- we reached our first destination- Fatima Illam Child Welfare , an Orphanage with 150 children of which some are Tsunami affected children, all eagerly waiting for us, awaiting the goodies we had in sore for them. Our twinklers gave them the decorated tree which they happily put up in their little set up of Jesus Christ in the manger. Twinklers served a healthy Christmas Lunch with cake and biscuits to the kids and handed over stationery sets to the students. It was ultimate joy to see the happiness on the children’s faces and it felt good to be able to make them happy in such a small way.

Time was ticking and it was 1:30pm- time to stop at the Refueling station – Pizza Hut the unanimous eating joint was our next stop where we were Crowned Pizza Queens for the no. of pizzas ordered and consumed. This was our little treat to our elves for their good deeds. Off back into the bus and back to town to our next project halt.

This was Nach Baliye time in the Magic Bus with all content tummies.

3pm we reached Annai Illam Old age home which houses 50 inmates and the second decorated Christmas tree was handed over along with Monthly Provisions, Ceiling Fans, Adult diapers, and cake. Each senior citizen at the Illam have different story for their negligence and each one is a heart choking one. Heart felt satisfaction with their gleaming smiles and teary eyes, we left to complete the final mission for the day. 4pm we gave cakes to 80 street kids at Anganvadi Catherdral Road slum area, the kids were thrilled to see their Santa coming in a bus, they enjoyed the Cake while showing off their favorite Rajnikanth dance moves in excitement and happiness.

Our Santa Elves were as happy as ever with the joy ride and the feeling of spreading joy and cheer that they demanded we do the Magic Bus every year with them…… Hohoho .
