Dear Friends,

Heartiest and Warm Wishes on the 67th Independence Day on behalf of LLC-110. I want to share a little account with you, about our celebration of the day.

The BIG DAY started with a very heavy rainfall through out the night and half the day. It was as if the Mother Nature is also celebrating this momentous day with us in its unique style.

These were joint events with LRT-188 ( Ludhiana Round Table ) . We had lined up two events for the day. One the Blood Donation Camp in Deep Hospital, and other the Independence Day Celebrations at Sutlej Public school which is also an Annual Function of the school, the school that LRT-188 and LLC-110 has recently adopted as their FTE long term project.

Since, there were two projects lined up the team of LLC was also divided in two parts. One part attended one event and the other part went for the second one as both the functions were at the opposite ends of the city and begin simultaneously.

Table Chairman Tr. A nand Gupta was the Chief Guest, Circle Chairperson Cr. Mallika Gupta was the Guest Of Honor along with LIRT-202 ( Ludhiana Invincible Round Table ) Chairman Tr. Nalin Mahajan.

The school staff and the children welcomed us with a welcome song. After lighting of the lamp, everyone proceeded for the Flag Hoisting. Chairman Anand Gupta had the honors and everyone saluted The National Flag with a roaring Jan Gan Man and the wheel started rolling. One after another patriotic skits, songs, dances were presented by talented students, and what a Bunch Of Students. As it is said Good Things Come In Small Packages, they truly are the living examples to the spirit of the saying as these students represent the under privileged class of society, where they are not getting proper food, clothes or means of education. The school is running on charity basis where a very nominal fee is being charged and is trying its best to give as much means as much it can to this section.

The circle gifted 20 Regalia Bags and a football courtesy Nivea, Lrt and Lirt gifted school chairs to the much needy school.

Then comes the Blood Donation Camp. It is our second consecutive year of this blood drive camp where tablers of both the tables, circlers and general people came forward to donate blood for the needed. The event was organised by Lrt 188 tabler Manu Bhasker. We collected a total of 35 units.

And thus, the Big Day was celebrated with a BANG !!!!!

Dear Circlers

A very very warm Independence Day!!

MLC 2 and MRWT 10 started the Independence day with a bang. We had 10 tablers, 1 HT, 6 Circlers and 8 Twinklers assemble at 7.45am at Murugan Idly for breakfast. At 8.30am we head to our very own Tandalam School (Sankara Matriculation). The flag was hoisted at 10 am and the little children at Sankara Matriculation sang many patriotic songs and we all sang the national anthem in chorus. There are almost 200 children in the school and it will not be out of place to mention that the school’s main block was built by funds raised by MWRT 10.

The chairman of MWRT 10 Tb.Ashwin Chetan handed over a water purifier RO plant worth Rs.17,000/- raised by the table. The Chairperson of MLC 2 Cr.Reema Malhotra handed over Sports equipment worth Rs.7595/- keeping in line with our national initiative of “Khelega India Badega India”

Besides this a lot of new sports equipment was given away by our twinklers to their little friends at Sankara Mat. The children at the school had prepared a 30 mins performance to entertain us and many of them were dressed as freedom fighters and spoke impressively most of the children in the school are first generation students belonging to families who were from purely farming background. The teachers of the school educate the children in English medium and it was phenomenal to see these little children speak English with so much of confidence. The correspondent of the school Mr.Ramchandran, Managing Trustee Mr. Ramnath and the chairman Mr.Ramalingam were extremely warm and thanked us for our contributions to the school year on year.

We left the school at about 11 am with wonderful memories which will last a long time. We made promises to this little children to improve the infrastructure in the school which we have been doing for the last few years and as they say where there is a will there is a way …we will continue to keep our promises.

Number of children benefitted: 270 students
