“I THANK GOD, FOR MY HANDICAPS, FOR THROUGH THEM, I HAVE FOUND MYSELF, MY WORK AND MY GOD.”
HELLEN KELLER

Every year we at SLC72, celebrate Rakshabandhan with the special children at Shree Mahadev Educational & Rehabilitation Public Charitable Trust (earlier Shruti) and the above quote stands true word by word on these children. It is always overwhelming to see their faces lit with vigor and happiness when they get the small gifts and the smiles when we tie Rakhi on their wrists. These children now recognize us and greet us with broad smiles.

This year too we tied Rakhi’s and donated 100 notebooks, 100 drawing books and 100 crayons( special crayons with special grip in sets of three) to the 200 children of the school. Snacks and chocolates were also distributed on this occasion.

These children thereafter performed Ganesh Vandana and group dances. On behalf of 41ers Club 104 , 41er Anuraag Mehra awarded them Rs. 1000/- on seeing their enthralling performance.

The total project cost is Rs. 10,530/- which is entirely sponsored. We thank all the sponsors who supported us in this noble cause.

Hey Friends,

Happy festival Days.

Here we are, celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan in advance in our Ludhiana ladies Circle (LLC-110) style.

The venue was Cr. Shikha’s home. It was a Twinklers fellowship event. A rakhi making competition was held, in which all the twinklers of Ludhiana Round Table ( LRT-188 ) participated.

The time limit was set at an hour for the making process. Twinklers brought all the rakhi making and decorating stuff by themselves. So, it was a colourful sight to see the different kinds of decorating and making stuff they had with them. They had come with such innovative ideas. Colourful ribbons, mirrors, disposable plates, beads, moli, and even different kinds of pulses were being used. All the enthusiastic mothers were also helping the little ones, with cutting, and decorating , as they were unable to curtail themselves from the colourful hustle and bustle happening around them.

Soon, we were presented with a colourful array of rakhis in their unique style. Best Rakhis were announced. But, ChocolateS as prizes were given to all, as it was a real difficult decision. A lilltle question-answer session was also held, regarding The Rakhi Festival.

Then came the french fries, pizza and noodle time, and then OFF WE GO………

‘SANGINI’……. A Fund Raising cum Publicity cum Fellowship event.

An exhibition cum sale of designer suits, kurtis, dress materials, sarees, bedsheets and dohars.

Date: 12th & 13th August.

It was our first fundraiser event for the year and we had a mixed feeling of nervousness and excitement. This fundraiser took its birth last year only and it was the second time that we were organizing it trying to make it our signature event.

After a month long market survey, we tied up with various boutiques and wholesale outlets who really impressed us with their stuff and rates. The exhibition was put up at a very prime location of the city… Zoom Art Gallery and comprised of all the designer stuff as promised in its advertising statement. Owing to our designer collection, yet reasonably priced, such an overwhelming response was received that we had to refill our stock in the very first evening. The two day exhibition was a grand success with a sale of Rs. 2,50,000/- raising our funds by Rs. 51,000/-.

Great fellowship times were experienced , both during the preparatory and executory phase of the event. We started meeting three days prior to the event for the tagging purpose which was accomplished with chatting, laughing and relishing eateries. Such was the fun that no one noticed the clock running and we were up till late night. We even celebrated CM Tr. Mukesh Bday with cake cutting during the preparatory phase. Such was the fellowship at the exhibition gallery also that most of the Circlers and past circlers were present for most of the time inspite of their allotted duty timings .

In an effort to publicize Ladies Circle India and Surat ladies Circle 72, banners were put up at the Exhibition gallery. The price tags also had logo of LC India with the name of SLC 72. Also we distributed hand bills comprising information of our club activities to all those who visited the gallery.

With the hard work of my fund raising convener Cr. Priti jariwala and the due support of entire SLC 72, SRT 135 & 41ers 104 family the event turned out to be a success raising a good profit amount.

After my first fundraiser I have developed more faith on the belief that if you do something for a good cause you will definitely succeed.
