Mother in laws TEEJ fellowship BULC96

On 22nd August 2013 we all in our LEHERIYA SAREES and mother in laws in BANDHEJ or MOTHRAS…got together to celebrate TEEJ….our TWINKLERS were also there to boost up their Daadis..
Cr. Krishna welcomed all the mils on behalf of BULC96 and ensured them an evening full of entertainment… Cr. NEHA who is a “poet” within us, spoke few lines for them and she was ready with her full on packed ANTAKSHARI, based on Saawan..so professionally she divided the teams mixed with mom in laws and daughter in laws…and there were words round, video clip, audio clip, and actor actress round… It was amazing as all of them sang and also danced..the hall was echoing of the melodious voices…

HRD GAMES-Other game was SABZEE MANDI…all the mom in laws got a sheet of vegetables and fruits with the rate list…mils sat at one end and rest all the dils sat opposite to them on other end… We had to write and all of them spoke aloud on one go only….Gosh, a true feeling of a fish market….but it was a great experience as how focused we were even if there was so much of disturbance around…. So a learning for us- HOW MUCH EVER THERE ARE DISTRACTION AROUND US IN LIFE WE SHOULD BE FOCUSED TO OUR OWN GOAL…

Cr. Vasudha asked all mils n dils to stand hand in hand…and we had to express our feelings and speak about each other…it was a sentimental moment for us..

Cr. Nidhi gave an awareness speech on the ORGAN DONATION…again many of our mils pledged with us for the cause…

The highlight was that our Cr. Neha’s grand mom in law was there too… And we honoured her with a token- A Diya….
All the winners were given prizes for all games…

It’s always a pleasure that with ladies circle fellowship we also involve our parents…
Great evening!

A visit to Fairyland Area 5 agm

Have u seen my childhood
I am searching for the world that I come from…...

The fairy tales of Cinderella, Snow White and the Dwarfs, Sindbad the Sailor, Alladin, a fairy Godmother with her magic wand and a Ginni who has the ultimate power of fulfilling every wish, all are the part of our childhood memories. I feel this song is a mirror image of everyone’s heartfelt feelings of that lost world that is known as Childhood. I as an adult miss it too at times.

Now what will happen, if we get to live our childhood again, where an actual Ginni is waiting on his head and toes to fulfill your every wish and whim, by simply saying ‘ JO HUKUM MERE AAKA’ ????? ……. Yes friends, I actually got the real experience.

LLC-110 attended the Area 5 AGM, the Agm with the theme Abra Ka Dabra at Wyndem Hotel Jaipur on 6th-8th of september. It was a grand property, with the outlook of some medieval period royal castle. We were welcomed in a traditional style with garlanding and tilak, on the beats of a Giant Nagaara. First thing we encountered was our ginni Tr Sumit, who was standing besides a Wish Tree, and asked everyone to make a wish. It was an amazing experience, specially for the kids . After going through with the normal registration formalities everyone checked in their rooms, and rested for a while. Then came the High tea time, the fun time. The theme was Water Sprites, colour of blue. A beautiful start of the day. The highlight of the event was a Blow Job game, where one partner had to BLOW the bubbles, and the other’s JOB was to puncture them.

Evening time was for the informal night, and it begun with a beautiful performance amidst heavy smoke and lights by our own ginnies. Lots of tables with their circles also performed on allotted movie themes and songs. We were given Amar Akbar Anthony and Jab We Met as movies, and Badtameez Dil as song, and friends we won hands down. We are winning informal night award for play consecutively from past six years. Hats off to our Director Tr. Narender Agarwal, also popularly known as the BP ( Bhisham Pitamah ) of LRT-188. The twinklers were a part of the performance group too, and were specially recognized for their efforts. and the day ended with a grand party and celebration.

But there was more to come. The next day was the Agm day, and the theme was Jungle Nymphs, and were presented with beautiful head gears and bracelets made of flowers. LLC-110 swiped six certificates for various circling activities, also winning best secretary and best chairperson award. After resting for a while, we were all gearing up for the big night, and then came a knock at the door, and the ginnies presented beautiful white and gold bracelets as it was the theme for the eve, the Formal night. It was a sea of beautiful ladies glittering in golds and whites, everyone looking a part of the evening. Cr. Shivani of LLC-110 took over as the new ACP. And hence, with lots of accolades and awards the Big Day ended on a high for us all.

But friends, the real drama was yet to reveal. At the time of departure we all got little ginnie gifts in answer to our wishes, and the ginnies promised to fulfill them by the end of century. We are waiting for the wishes to come true with high spirits and hopes…….

Thanks.

The LLC 84 Rakhi project

Ties that bind

Community projects are the backbone of a social organization like the LLC 84 and to its credit, this is an area where our Circle is completely committed. Hence, it was little wonder that when Chairlady Bhavna gave the call for circlers of LLC 84 to collect at the Acharya Narendra Dev School for the underprivileged children a few days before Rakhi, the ladies turned up in good numbers. The idea was to distribute rakhis and a few other essentials to the school children and bring a smile on their faces as the festival that celebrates bonding drew near.

The members reached the venue bright and early and among the foremost were Circlers Kavita Nigam, Stuti Agarwal, Mani Madan, Bhavna Bajaj, Luna Jaiswal. Ritu Bhatia, Shilpi Bansal and Ritu Singh. We all trooped into the classrooms and soon the quizzical looks on the faces of the children wondering what were so many ladies doing in their classes turned to broad smiles as we began distributing the cute cartoon rakhis. The children also got notebooks and pencil sets as a part of the projects and going the happy faces we were all quite convinced about the efficacy of our drive.

Teej Party by LLC 84

Going green…. for fun!

Come August and all of Lucknow seems to turn a pretty shade of green… not with envy we assure you but with pride as the auspicious month of Saawan begins. Saawan, heralding the rains, is celebrated with great fervour in this part of India, especially the festival of Hariyali teej when girls and women alike get together to sing, dance and make merry.

The Hariyali teej is a great opportunity for members of LLC 84 to bond and that is how the ladies got together that balmy Monday afternoon for a teej do graciously hosted by circler Priyanka Saraff at her home. Dressed to nines as befitting the occasion the ladies seemed geared up for an evening of fun sans the tablers. Songs and dances are a given at teej dos and so we saw a great show put up by some of the circlers including the lissom Cr Ritu Bhatia and her daughter. Other twinklers too put up a great show much to the delight of their mothers and other ladies all of whom responded with cheers and claps and calls for encore.

And just like that it was time for games to begin. Judging by the noise the girls were making we are not surprised the men, the few who had decided to keep their wives company namely Tr Vinamra and Tr Abhishek, decided to retreat into one of the inside rooms. The game organised by Cr Shilpi Bansal and Tr Manisha Ladhani was a hit from the start and why not when there were goodies like Body Shop gift packs, Bacardi breezer bottles and such to be given out. In fact, the Body Shop gift pack was quite the coveted item with almost all of the guests waiting for their chance to claim it. In the end Cr Anjali Chandra walked away with it, but not before the others playfully asking her to exchange it with what they had to offer!

The evening tea, a contributory effort by all the circlers, was greatly welcomed after all that calories consuming activity and the ladies dug in with gusto into the papdi-chaat, pasta, burgers and such. The evening ended with Cr Priyanka and Cr Aparna handing out pretty little potlis as goodbye gifts to all the guests.

True Blue! The 11th AGM of LUCKNOW LADIES CIRCLE – 84

TheAnnual General Meeting (AGM) of Lucknow Ladies Circle 84 was all that an annual event of such magnitude should be… and more. For, along with the mandatory rounding up of the year that went by and resolutions made for the year that was about to begin, there was fun and laughter in equal measure. Keeping up the spirit of tabling were Cr Neha Jhunjhunwala and Cr Stuti Agarwal with their gregarious sergeant act. Standup comedian Kunal Rao tickled the funny bone of the collected crowd, once the formalities of the AGM were over.

Goodbye and good luck

It was a traditional beginning to the AGM when the collected dignitaries lit the auspicious lamp. Thereafter, a heartwarming address by the Outgoing Chairlady, Cr Kavita Nigam, set the tone for the event. She graciously welcomed the Area Board members, guests and prospective members including Area 8 LC Chairperson Cr. Roopalini Bhatia, Area 8 LC Chairperson- elect Cr. Ritu Singh, Nat. HT Rajat Mathur, Area 8 Chairman Tr. Aditya Murti, Area 8 Chairman elect Tr. Umang Sah and Tablers and Sq.Legs of LRT 136. Cr Kavita summed up her year in office with a heartfelt note of thanks to her board and the other Circlers present at the venue. In addition, she laid great emphasis on the social work the circle had been a part of during her tenure, with a fond wish that Circle 84 continues the good work in years to come.

A greater insight into LLC 84’s work during the year gone by was provided by Secretary Cr Ritu Bhatia, who elaborated on all the meetings, projects and fellowship initiatives the Circle had undertaken. Lively photographs and anecdotes made her presentation all the more interesting.

Once Cr Ritu’s presentation was over, Cr Kavita ended her stint in her own touching manner by presenting the new joinees with treasured mementos.

Here’s to new beginnings

The outgoing team’s address was followed by Chairlady elect Bhavna Bajaj taking to the dias and outline her plans for the coming year. She began by addressing the national theme for the year which is “Believe in Yourself” and Give It your Very Best, Your Way. Her words were: “It is only when we start believing in ourselves and make others around us believe in their abilities, that we take the first step toward success.”

The twin purposes of every circle: Fellowship and social projects found an equal mention in Cr Bhavna’s address. She further added, “With this as the guiding principle, my main focus this year will be to create those opportunities for circlers that will help them develop their belief in themselves and those around them. This we plan to achieve through the various facets of circling- projects, fellowship, fundraising, HRD and Twinkler’s activities.”

The LLC 84 and LRT 136 joint project for the purpose of education for the underprivileged found a special mention in Chairlady Bhavna speech as did HRd activities and Twinklers’ project, in which she hoped for an equal participation from young fathers of the Table.

IPC Cr Kavita was congratulated on being appointed Area 8 HRD convenor and Cr Bhavna took this opportunity to emphasize on that oft ignored aspect of circling, HRD, which according to her if used appropriately, can be a most rewarding facet of circling. Hoping to revive just that with the help of IPC Cr Kavita and Cr Jyoti, Bhavna mooted the idea of a 2 minute talk by any circler on any topic of interest at regular meetings as suggested by the Nationals.

Achievements of other circlers also did not go unnoticed. Cr Bhavna announced the appointment of Cr Ritu Singh as the area chairlady of Area 8 and Cr Aparna as the Project convenor of Area 8.

Fun on the cards

The rounding up of the year for a Circle such as ours is sure to be an onerous task. But the organizers made sure the fun element was retained, not in the least ably assisted by sergeant-at-arms Cr Stuti Agarwal and Cr Neha Jhunjhunwala. No sooner were the appointed tasks over, they took to stage and true to the spirit of tabling pulled up circlers old and new for the faux pas committed. Of course the onlookers seemed to have a blast as one-by one their counterparts were pulled up.

The evening concluded with fun and laughter. Standup comedian from Mumbai, Kunal Rao had everyone in splits with his rather witty observations, but our very own Cr Kavita Nigam proved to be quite a match for him, especially when he began his tirade against non vegetarians. Right in the middle of his act, Cr Kavita pointed out laughingly wondered what was he doing in Tundeys, Lucknow famed kebab eatery and poor Kunal did seem at a loss for words.

Kunal’s act put the guests in the right mood to party and soon the dance floor filled up with merry revelers keen to shake a leg.
